The sleep of the just....really tired

Now, just because I ended that last post by saying I was off to bed and the time of the post was 9.40 pm does not mean I'm less than a real man. It's simply an expression. Honest! What I usually do is lock uo and clear up and shut down computers and then read for an hour - in bed if Laura is still up working or not watching tv; in the living room is she wants to watch the BBC news. I do get up at 5 am every morning so I don't feel I need to justify myself that much. I've done half a day's work before most people get to the office. Come 10 in the evening I start to flag. The new running regimen also takes its toll, however easily I'm taking these first weeks of training.
I've given up on the BBC news. When it's not avoiding coverage of the real issues it's hyping some of its own programmes or simply adopting a simplistic attitude to relaying the facts. Any hint of opinion has gone: there are no commentators willing to say that a politician is talking out of his copious backside. I think there's more edge in Newsround, which is aimed at kids instead of the 10 o'clock news, which treats us as kids.
Another very hot day. In town I saw a headline for the local paper which said that Reigate was suffering from a wasp invasion. You heard it here first - see previous blog.
Off to bed. No, not really.
