Some kind of new start

It's my birthday tomorrow and I've planned a new regime of writing to try and make up for lost time. I guess that should really be wasted time.
Isla starts back at school tomorrow as well but Sean and Kirstie remain on holiday for one more week. It has seemed a long summer! Trying to juggle working from home with spending time with, and meeting the quite reasonable demands of, three children is a draining experience. Yet I wouldn't swap it for am office job and seeing nothing of my kids. I know; I've done that. When I lived in Singapore I spent as much time away on business trips as I did at home. I even missed Isla's first birthday. Those days are long gone, thank goodness. I'll take money worries over not seeing the kids any day.
As well as getting more words than usual down on paper I'm going to get back into some sort of fitness (well - running) routine. And the inevitable decision to avoid alcohol. All very worthy and predictable. The unpredictable thing this time will be pursuing the intentions to fruition.
Happy birthday to myself for tomorrow! I'm off for an early night in preparation for an early start in the morning.
