Question Time from Miami

Friday, October 29, 2004

Last night the BBC's Question Time was broadcast from Miami and it was an entertaining and enlightening show. Entertaining because the audience were much more vocal in their responses to the panel's opinions than the normal British audience would be. Enlightening because the Bush supporters in the audience seemed unable to understand the simple fact that another Bush term increases the level of danger they face rather than the opposite. Many people are scared of a repeat of September 11th. Rightly so, but that fear is making them take wrong decisions, like acqiescing in the destruction of civil liberties within the US. For the sake of balance last night the BBC managed to get two morons on to the panel, one a former speech writer for Bush, the other our very own British moron Sun 'writer' Richard Littlejohn. Michael Moore came across well, using wit and reasoned argument against the airy lies and distortions of Littledick and the Bushman.
