Stargate: Atlantis - will it sink?

Wednesday, October 13, 2004

I was a bit disappointed with last night's Atlantis opener. It started well, with the scenes at the Antarctic base. But the interactions between team members seemed a bit predictable and the actual Atlantis set looked rather shoddy, as if made by British TV for an old Dr. Who episode.

When the offworld offworld team (if you see what I mean) got to the next planet it all fell into a rather predicatble pattern and the Wraith were prefigured so heavily all through that the appearance of the space ships soaring through the startgate was neither surprising nor interesting in itself.

A long way to go before it captures the heart of this dedicated original Stargate fan.
