Missing each other

Thursday, January 20, 2005

At the station a woman dropped off her husband. As she drove away I watched him look to catch her eye. She was concentrating on turning the car. When she had turned and was leaving the car park she looked to catch her husband's eye. He was now concentrating on walking on to the platform. They both started their day wondering why their partner didn't look to smile or wave goodbye. On such moments hang the health of a marriage.
