Mortgages for foxes

Monday, January 03, 2005

They're building a block of overpriced flats at the top of our road. This is the second block to appear in the past year. Adding new houses just increases the traffic on an already busy road, of course, and parking becomes more and more difficult.

One of the foxes that lives in the small copse opposite the new block was over checking out the show house this morning when I ran past. I guess they're worried that the copse itself will soon turn into flats and they may as well get ahead of the game and purchase a place now. It will have to be a cash buy, though, as the banks are starting to become a little more choosey about handing out mortgages as the market begins to slow down. Then again, with the ban on fox hunting coming into effect, they're a safer bet than they once were.
