The cold snap

Especially if you bend them.

The last week or so has seen my brain sieze up like a frozen boiler. I'm not sure of it's just the freezing rain and bitter winds that greet me in the morning or something more fundamental. Whatever the reason, I've been lax in updating the blog.

Talking of blogs - and in complete, illogical contrast with the previous sentence - I've just installed the latest version of WordPress on my web site and will be using that for another blog starting soon. I've been meaning to get away from using Blogger for a while, simply to underscore my blogging credentials (huh?) and give me more of an excuse for avoiding doing anything more useful with my time.

Scoble (he of the Microsoft evangelistic tendencies - see this post) has produced the first chapter of a book he's writing with a colleague on Business Blogging. That was one bad read. The real disappointment is not simply the lack of depth in the thinking but also the very poor style. Very hard work, lots of grammatical errors, and quite a few typos. A first draft? Fair enough. But does everyone have to be subjected to that rough a first draft? I think not. If you think I'm being harsh, follow the link and read just the first two or three paragraphs.

Then, to be sure (to be sure, to be sure) get some cardboard, moisten it, place a hefty portion in your mouth and start chewing. I think you'll find the similarity astounding.
