And things just get better.

After the kids finished eating I cooked some pasta, mixed some pesto with a little virgin olive oil, stirred it in, and poured myself a glass of Feltzer Chardonay/Viognier blend. We're low on white wine, which is why I had to get close to Chardonnay - which I hate - but at least the Viognier took the edge off the Chardonnay's customary buttery sweetness. But wine aside, everything was rounded off perfectly by Bill Evans on the CD player - Portrait in Jazz. Scott leaFaro on bass: listen to Autumn Leaves.

Laura is out with her employees at a combination social event/pep-talk. The kids are watching MTV. I'll be ready for bed before they are. I'll stretch out and read a chapter of Dress Her in Indigo.
