Wil's will to power

Wednesday, June 08, 2005

In what is quite simply Wil Wheaton's best piece of writing to date he manages to highlight both what is execrable about many blogs out there and what makes his own high on the feed subscription list of many many other bloggers.

Total honesty can sometimes be a way of keeping us from changing. "Hey, don't blame me, I'm just being honest." Wil knows that blogging is a conversation and not a diary. The successful blogs are those that engage readers in that conversation. It's not reality TV because it's not about five minutes of fame (Warhol's original number haas been well and truly devalued over the years) and trying to be something other than yourself.

I, for one, am looking forward to reading Wil's blog more than ever.
