2006 and all that

No resolutions, no promises, no pedictions. I know from past experience - long, painful, past experience - that all such hostages to fortune simply become extra pressure and a boost of stamina to the inner critic. They're pretty useful for stimulating mixed metaphors, as well.
I had fully intended that this Blogger-driven blog would be closed by now and I have not updated this for some weeks. This indifference on my part was partly a result of the death of my mother-in-law and partly because I sensed that I was updating the blog simply for the sake of it: I had little to say and this wasn't really the place to say it anyway.
Has anything changed? I'm not sure but I've decided to hold off on changing the blog and doing the podcast until I'm sure that I have something to add. I have other things I want to be concentrating on, namely my family, my own writing, and earning a decent living. In that order, too, probably. Definitely.
The New Year is starting in hectic fashion, with writing jobs from a number of clients and my IT contract continuing. Something will have to give in the next few weeks.
Last bit of update news - I promise! - is that I've taken the Jenny Colgan route and begun those three chapters. See previous waffle on this here. I'll let you know how it goes. I plan to get the chapters out to agents before I head off on a ski trip at the end of March. Once that news is out, of course, there will be uncontained excitement in the bok world. You can almost hear the fingers on the fast dial for those conference calls and open auctions. Yeah.
