As a follow-up to the comments on my last post I would just like to add that the best take on the political situation in the US at the moment (Jon Stewart's Daily Show aside) is 1115.org. I believe that the strongest and most valid criticism of the rule of shrubbery in the US comes from sites like this. Here is their take on reports about the recent missile attack in Pakistan.
