Violence against the vulnerable

Monday, January 23, 2006

It is with a great sense of pride that I can announce that my home country has established a new movement: Violence against the Vulnerable. This is an all-party initiative which, in simple terms, advocates using violence against children. This is a first step, of course, and the leaders of the initiative will be expanding the targets of physical assault through forthcoming legislation. Tabled already for debate are calls to treat the elderly and the handicapped with "slaps, pokes, jabs, and punches". The parliamentary cross-party committee on Dark Age Values stated
it's no longer sufficient to subject the weak and vulnerable in our society with sarcasm and disdain. These are not full members of our society and should not expect to benefit from the laws that protect the rest of us.
Here's the report from the Scotsman covering the movement's launch in Edinburgh.
