Just getting a few things down.

Make the free choice

One of the - MANY - behavioural quirks in MSWord that annoyed me was the necessity to save your document once more after running a spell check, even if no changes were made to the document. (Don't get me started on the Microsoft spell checker!) I just ran the spell checker in OpenOffice v2 and then closed the document on which I was working. No dialogue box popped up to tell me the document had changed, even though I added a new term to the dictionary. I like OpenOffice v2.

I have received documents from, and sent documents to, three separate Word-using clients since changing to OpenOffice v2. So far, no problems at all. That seems to me to be A GOOD THING. Here's a quick update on the latest prices:
OpenOffice v2 - FREE
Office2003 Pro - £314.88 excuding VAT (from Dabs)

Admittedly, Office2003 comes with Outlook so I'll add in the price of Thunderbird to even things up:
Office2003 Pro - still £314.88 excluding VAT
OpenOffice v2 PLUS Thunderbird - still FREE
